Their survey includes statistics taken from 24.000 participants based in 31 countries.

“2022 will finally be the time to branch out and make new connections” More than 60% of the participants are expecting to meet new people and even establish relationships during their next travels.

First Time Feelings
“The anticipation of the journey will be as exciting as the destination. “Jurney in the past was a necessity, just a way to get to the fun part. Now 75% of travellers find that the journey to a destination to be more enjoyable, and it feels like part of the trip itself.
Resetting work boundaries
“Vacation time will strictly be work-free.” After changing and moving all the known boundaries work-related, working from home in our pyjamas, day and night, during the pandemic period, 73% of the participants expressly declared that the following travel/vacations would be work free.
Travel as self-care
“Travel will become an essential form of self-care.”According to 79% of the survey participants, travel is becoming one of the essential forms of self-care. The self-care trend for 2022 will be travel, not just yoga and mindful meditation, with people valuing the time they have to switch off and taking advantage of that time to immerse themselves in new places and cultures.
Community first
“Authentic connection with the local community will be a priority.”58% of travellers feel that travelling to a destination that benefits the local community is essential.
Just say yes!
“People will be saying YES to travel, making up for lost vacation time.”The number of travellers who are open to different vacation types and experiences has gone up to 61%.
Embracing the unpredictable
“People will use technology to embrace travels continued unpredictability.” 64% of the participants agreed that the technology use would be critical on their next travel.
