Zurich Airport has announced its winter flight schedule 2021/2022, valid as of Sunday and through March 26, 2022. It consists of 145 destinations that will be served by 43 airlines. Zurich Airport reports that 80 per cent of airlines that flew to Zurich Airport before the pandemic are back. However, in some cases, the frequency of flights to some destinations is significantly lower than before the pandemic. Therefore, please note that changes may still occur in the future.
In the new flight plan, there are also new direct connections. Among these are Zanzibar and Liberia (Costa Rica), both served by Edelweiss. In addition, Edelweiss is also serving Luxor in Egypt for the first time since 2013. These are the destinations listed by world region:

Europe
Previously seasonal destinations, Marseille, Palermo, Thessaloniki, Sarajevo and Tirana, are now included in the winter schedule. Podgorica and Tallinn’s destinations, which Chair and Swiss added in the summer, will continue to be served in winter. In addition, Easyjet is adding a London-Luton route once more. During the winter schedule, Edelweiss is offering service to Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar, two new destinations in Tanzania. Sal (Cape Verde) is also now on the Edelweiss route map. Asia
Thai Airways will again offer direct flights to Bangkok from November 4 and continue to fly to Phuket. Direct flights are again scheduled with Swiss to India serving Mumbai and Delhi. Middle East
Edelweiss serves the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, Muscat. During the winter, Chair and El Al will continue to operate the connections to Beirut and Tel Aviv that were resumed in the summer. Swiss is now flying twice a week to Beirut as well. In addition, Emirates plans to increase their daily frequency to Dubai by a second flight four days a week. North America
In mid-December, American Airlines will fly daily to Philadelphia again. In addition, United Airlines flies daily to Washington and New York in the winter. South America
Concerning South America’s flights, in addition to the daily connection to Sao Paulo, flights to Buenos Aires will operate twice a week. Delta Airlines will operate the route Zurich-New York (JFK) beginning February 14. In addition to Cuba (Havana), Edelweiss flies to Puerto Plata and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
