WTM once again opened at ExCel London
The World Travel Market (WTM) in London has opened its doors. Despite many uncertainties, the trade fair organizers declare that this is the largest tourism trade fair attendance since March 2020.
ExCel London opened its gates on November 1st for the World Travel Market (WTM), which will last until November 3rd. A digital event will take place between November 8 and 9. Reed Exhibitions confirmed that the conference would be the largest live industry gathering in tourism since the Pandemic of Covid began. Although official visitor statistics aren’t yet available, it seems that more than 140 countries sent thousands of travel industry professionals to London this week for the WTM. Exhibitors and buyers are booking more events because of the continued relaxation of entry regulations in the UK and overseas. The World Travel Market (WTM) in London has opened its doors.
More than 100 countries and regions have registered as exhibitors for the WTM, while 141 countries and regions have signed up for the buyer’s club. The program follows what one is used to from pre-pandemic WTM versions: panels with tourism ministers from various countries, industry experts and press representatives, one-on-one meetings at the stands, and of course, the WTM Industry Report at the beginning of the trade fair. In addition, there will be a “Travel Forward” technology conference and the “International Tourism & Investment” topic, which will also be the theme of the annual UNWTO, WTTC, and WTM Ministerial Summit to be held on November 2nd. The Summit will provide the opportunity for public and private sector tourism officials to share best practices and explore new investment opportunities. The World Travel Market (WTM) in London has opened its doors.
British Tourism Minister Nigel Huddleston addressed the participants at the opening of WTM: “It was and is a difficult time for the travel and tourism industry, but the large international participation in the World Travel Market testifies to the resilience and hard work of the players in the industry.”
We wish a successful and fruitful fair to all of the participants to the WTM 2021.
Good luck!
