Switzerland lifts all entry restrictions
Everyone can now enter Switzerland as usual as of May 2. Switzerland lifts all entry restrictions.
It will be especially beneficial for incoming industries.
Our German neighbours especially envy us for abolishing all corona measures in Switzerland. However, many people are unaware that entry into Switzerland is still restricted.
The situation will soon change: travellers from abroad can enter Switzerland again under the usual conditions, or they can apply for a visa. As a result of the pandemic, the last remaining entry restrictions will become a memory on May 2, 2022. On Thursday evening, the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) announced in the short message service Twitter that the standard requirements for trips to Switzerland will resume on Monday next week.
State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) lists some countries outside the Schengen area and Europe as “risk countries”. In addition, there is a list of “non-risk countries” under this link; everyone else is a risk country if they are not on the list. As a result, all travellers from the latter countries can’t come to Switzerland without a permit for three months. This condition applies, for example, to tourists and people looking for a job. There are also restrictions on issuing visas.
Several exceptions already exist to the entry ban, including for Swiss nationals. There are exceptions in the case of those who have: a Swiss residency permit or those vaccinated and recovered. Entry from risk countries can also apply in cases of hardship.
Nine days from now, this will be a waste, and the pre-pandemic regulations will apply.
