Gstaad
A world-famous mountain resort, Gstaad is filled with celebrities and glamorous guests. However, staying here is expensive due to its luxury and upscale nature.
This beautiful Swiss village is nestled in the Bernese Oberland region. With its charming timber buildings, this village is reminiscent of a fairytale. Skiing, mountain biking, and hiking are among the outdoor sports available in the resort.
You can also visit art galleries and museums for a cultural break in the town, which is home to a wealth of designer boutiques. There are also spas and wellness hotels for those seeking a more relaxing mountain retreat.
See the New Years’ Music Festival if you arrange to visit Gstaad from December 26th to January 7th. A series of classical music concerts will take place in various locations.
Interlaken
Swiss town Interlaken is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and between two sparkling lakes. Beautiful mountain vistas, flower-lined streets, and open meadows await you here. A touristy town in Switzerland because of its beauty and location.
Interlaken is a fantastic base for a whole variety of excursions and activities.
You can also explore the surrounding area through adrenaline-fueled activities, such as waterfall abseiling, skiing, tobogganing, paragliding, canyoning, and parasailing.

Lauterbrunnen
Lauterbrunnen is a quintessential Swiss village surrounded by towering rock faces and tall mountain peaks. The same name Valley is known for its 72 waterfalls, meaning that ‘Lauter Brunnen’ means ‘many fountains. Hiking and trail trails are, therefore, plentiful.
Within an extraordinarily picturesque environment, the village consists of traditional chalet-style buildings. The vibrant alpine meadows make it a fantastic place for nature lovers.
Bern is about an hour away from Lauterbrunnen. In addition, the mountain railway connects Mürren-Schilthorn and Wengen-Kleine skiing regions.
Many events occur in December, from the Mulle wine festival to night skiing and other activities. You will have to check when you get there.

Locarno
Locarno is a fascinating town located on the lake’s Maggiore northern shore. Palm trees thrive in the town in contrast to the fairytale Old Town. Visitors to Locarno can enjoy plenty of sunshine and a Mediterranean atmosphere with its warmest climate in Switzerland.
There is a beautiful 12th-century castle and narrow lanes in the Renaissance Old Town. This town has undeniable charm due to its strong historical and cultural characteristics.
The nearby valleys of Val Maggia and Val Verzasca offer a variety of outdoor sporting activities for adventure seekers.
The traditional Christmas market in Locarno starts on December 8th, and do not miss the Locarno on Ice. As a result of Locarno on Ice, the Piazza Grande transforms into a fairytale-like setting with an ice rink surrounded by red carpets, a heated terrace, a stage for live performances, sizeable transparent igloo bars, and small chalets offering different gastronomic specialities.

Lutry
An 11th-century church and a 16th-century castle can be found in Lutry, a medieval market town. Take a stroll through the cobblestone streets and visit the many galleries, shops, cafes, and wine cellars. This town is surrounded by a beautiful waterfront, which adds to its atmosphere.
Explore the stunning scenery of the area on several hiking routes. September ends with the Fête des Vendanges, an annual wine harvest festival. There are many wine tastings in the town this time of year, so it’s a great time to visit.
On December 11th, the traditional Christmas Market is opening in this special fairytale place.
