Zurich Airport is making progress with the super scanner
Modern scanners simplify airport security checks. Zurich Airport plans to conduct the tests for implementing those scanners in the near future. Zurich Airport is making progress with the super scanner.
Many passengers need help with the airport security check. There is no reason for them to be suspicious, only because they grow stressed out by long lines and complex processes. The requirement for passengers to remove liquids and laptops from their hand luggage is particularly annoying. Carry-on baggage will be able to carry liquids and laptops after new scanners are installed at more airports worldwide.
There is progress being made at Zurich Airport.
The modern scanners at Frankfurt Airport were found to be reliable after tests. According to the report, the new system would have processed four times as many travellers per hour. The new devices will therefore be introduced on a large scale at Frankfurt Airport. Geneva Airport has been using the technology since 2018, as does Munich.
Spain’s largest airports, such as Barcelona, Madrid, and Palma, will install the new super scanners by mid-2024. The Zurich Airport wants to follow the same path. As of 2019, Zurich airport planned to conduct tests with computed tomography scanners. However, during the pandemic, the project was on hold. But it may start again next year.
With the new super scanners, three-dimensional images of bags and backpacks can be taken, and additional materials identified. A considerable amount of time can be saved by reducing follow-up checks.
It will be convenient and faster for us to travel once these new scanners get installed in Zurich airport.
