To promote tourism, destinations offer free flights and hotels
Dreaming of pricey destinations is more frequent than dreaming of deals and savings when travelling. However, there are a select few instances where promotions are unexpectedly alluring. Several tourist sites provide significant ticket reductions and even advertisements, including free flights and hotel nights, to entice visitors after the coronavirus outbreak. To promote tourism, destinations offer free flights and hotels.
Since the industry is slowly returning to its pre-pandemic levels after a traumatic period like the one experienced during the pandemic, certain nations are attempting to stimulate the return of tourists through various offers.
Sicily
A program called “See Sicily” provides special deals and incentives for travellers to Italy’s Sicily. Hotel guests who reserve three nights
In addition, a complementary local excursion that can include a route underwater is included, along with a 50% discount on flights or ferry rides to the Italian island. The deal is only suitable for journeys leaving before September 30 and has to be reserved through a neighbourhood agency. The promotion is not valid during July and August.
Taiwan
According to Prime Minister Chen Chien-Jen, the government will give away $165 to around 500,000 visitors, while $658 will be given to about 90,000 tour groups. Additionally, a promotion gives foreign visitors 2-for-1 train tickets on the high-speed line. These deals go into effect on April 15.
Hong Kong
In the “Hello Hong Kong” promotional campaign, half a million free airline tickets will be given out to travellers worldwide, with a sizable portion earmarked for Americans. Hong Kong Express, Cathay Pacific, and Hong Kong Airlines are the participating airlines in the promotion.
Paris: On April 5, French President Emmanuel Macron and Minister of Olympics and Sports Amélie Oudéa-Castéra stated that the French government would spend $16 million to give away 400,000 free tickets for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which will begin on August 2, 2024. The People’s Ticket Office will deliver the tickets to children and volunteers who help with the Games. In addition, it is anticipated that 260 000 tickets will be used by students who can not afford a ticket.
