What is the best time to book cheap flights online?
What is the best time to book cheap flights online? The best time to book cheap flights is in the morning on Tuesdays – 57 CHF on average, for instance, if the destination is close.
However, the same place can cost up to 69 euros on a Sunday. Is there the worst hour? Everyone agrees to track the Internet beginning at 1:00 p.m. Distance increases the differences significantly.
You’ll always find it cheaper to travel in the off-season and after the holidays when fewer reservations exist. Based on an analysis of Jetcost’s users in 38 countries last year, this is what the digital hotel and flight search engine in Europe concluded based on its online study of the best times of the week for travel bargains.
The cost of a weekend trip is higher
With an average price of 63 euros, Tuesday is generally the cheapest day of the week to book a flight, although the figure drops to 57 if the search is done at 2 in the morning. Further, it says the best time to buy flights is between Monday and Wednesday since prices tend to rise as the weekend approaches.
According to the study, buying at night is better than buying in the morning. As a result, flights from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. cost around 67 euros, while between 8:00 p.m. and the next day, the figure drops to 63 euros.
Right after Christmas, when most travel, January and February are the best months to find a cheap domestic flight. Where is the best place to get away for a reasonable price? In some European countries, flights cost 102 and 106 euros between those dates, while if you search in June, the price will double.
Reservations in advance
Immediately following the summer holidays is the second-best time of year to find cheap flights, namely September and October. In contrast, June and July are the most expensive months of the year, whether you travel domestically, internationally, or long distances. Buying them in January and February costs around 600, rising to 755 in September and 923 in June.
If you’re wondering when to buy your flights, the price increases immediately before departure. As a result, making the reservation as soon as possible and at least 15 days in advance is more profitable. If done two months in advance, the prices will drop more than 10%.
Additionally, there are always other tricks to get a bargain besides selecting the day of the week to purchase the ticket. For example, the ticket price will be lower if you choose an airport different from the usual ones, which are generally farther from the city centre.
Last-minute offers are also worth checking out, as many companies lower prices as the flight date approaches if they do not sell seats.
