Smart Tag Collection
To solve those kinds of situations, luggage manufacturer, Samsara has launched a “Tag Smart Collection”.
It is becoming increasingly common for passengers to track their luggage themselves. As a result, several companies have started to capitalize on this trend.
As more travellers rely on themselves to keep their luggage safe, they use “Air Tags,” for example, from Apple, to always be able to find their lost belongings. Luggage companies capitalize on this trend by promising you that you can find your luggage anytime.
Samsara, a company from Silicon Valley, has raised 930 million dollars so far, is dealing mainly with the Internet of Things, and focuses on tracking mobile objects. In addition, Samsara now offers luggage with air tags that should be easy to locate. Samsara’s “Tag Smart Collection” gives travellers with the Apple AirTag the security of knowing that they have checked their suitcase with the Find My App, for the iPhone can quickly locate. Furthermore, the “Tag Smart” has an inner compartment where the AirTag can be protected from the inside—designed specifically for the AirTag. This new luggage collection targets young “connected” travellers.
Smart Lock
You do not necessarily have to buy new luggage or buy an “Air Tag” from Apple. Locks with integrated tracking devices are also available. Taglock, a Hong Kong startup firm, developed such a lock and now tries to sell it as a must-have travel accessory.
By secure, integrated “housing” in which you can attach the usual “smart tags”, you can prevent unauthorized access to luggage. Apple, Tile, TL-Tracker, and others are compatible. In addition, Android and iOS users can load the lock’s app on their phones.
TSA (Transport Security Administration) has already approved the lock, including a digital ID card that can identify who owns the luggage. So you can purchase this lock for only 42$ at the moment.
One thing is sure: we are heading towards a time when lost luggage will no longer be an issue.
