Unlike in other areas, it is not surprising that the travel sector has seen a noticeable decline in visits. Although many people were at home, they chose to visit other websites. It is no surprise that, if people were unable to travel, they would not visit travel websites.

Booking, for instance, continues to lead despite losing 10.75% of organic visitors. Fascinating is the case of TripAdvisor, which holds onto its second position despite losing 33.2% of its traffic.

Although not as much as Ryanair, which is last in the table with 47.74% fewer visits. American Airlines has experienced growth of 11.19%, so not all flight portals have been negatively impacted.

In addition, Airbnb has managed to record a boost of 12.85%, meaning apartment rentals have recovered faster than hotels. Vrbo, which caters to family vacation rentals, has experienced a 44.70% growth rate. The result is that Expedia takes 5th and 6th place in the top 10.
In addition, Agoda has also grown in January 2022 compared to January 2020. Travel is back on the agenda with a 22.19% increase in visitors. As an interesting side note, the Marriott International website holds the ninth position, with a growth rate of 16.63%. This shows the importance of customer loyalty programs.
