The award decision happened in October 2021, but the award ceremony took place only on Friday, 14.01.2022.
Die Tafelgesellschaft zum Goldenen Fisch, was founded on September 4th, 1969, in the “Stars” inn in Walchwil on Lake Zug as an association. Since then, the prestigious organization has grown in all parts of the country, becoming more popular in the neighbouring countries. Today, it comprises around 2,000 fish lovers as partners, over a hundred talented fish chef artists as gastro partners, and a few dozen professional fishers who form their partner category.
Their primary goal is to promote the art of fish cooking in the hospitality industry all over Switzerland.
Restaurants that create excellent delicate fish dishes, coupled with exceptional service, earn a blue plaque with a golden fish.
Last Friday evening, in the beautiful atmosphere of the Ioannis restaurant, an award ceremony took place. In addition, an exquisite four-course menu was presented and served.
Nothing short of excellence, Chef Ioannis Kapentanidis created pure magic with fresh Swiss and unique Greek products.
The main attributes of the menu were: smoked swordfish and shrimp slices in a salad for starter; brown grouper soup with saffron; fillet of brown grouper on charcoal, all accompanied by different organic vegetables prepared in various imaginative ways. The dessert was unforgettable as well, Vanilla semolina pudding with homemade puff pastry accompanied by Swiss chocolate and vanilla sauce.
