August is quite a busy month. Those still on holiday may come to some visit on their return, or all those who are here and enjoying the Swiss Summer, august is an excellent opportunity for some great event visits.

Locarno Film Festival
Locarno, 03-13 August 2022
Over the past 75 years, the Locarno Film Festival has become one of the world’s most prestigious film events. Swiss-Italian city, located between the lake and the mountains, turns into a capital of international cinema every Summer, bringing the most innovative visions to the screen. In eleven days, stars, new talents, professionals and the audience will come together.

Roman Festival
Augst, 6-7 August 2022
For the 25th time this August, visitors can experience the tremendous Roman spectacle in Augst (BL)
A Roman festival like no other, with gladiator fights, theatre performances, chariot racing for families, dance performances and over 30 hands-on activities for all ages. This journey into the ancient past is a complete success in every respect. Do not miss it.

Nyon Triathlon
Nyon, 6-7 August 2022
If you prefer extra fun and sports, visit Nyon on the 6-7 of August for its 32nd edition, the Triathlon of Nyon. Nearly 2,300 athletes and 600 volunteers participate in the Nyon Triathlon, the largest triathlon in Switzerland. Races are adopted for all ages and levels of participants.

Lucerne Festival
Lucerne, 08 August – 11 September 2022
Over 100 concerts and international classical music stars will take place in the heart of Switzerland over five weeks.
Lucerne Festival is a leading international music presenter offering three festivals yearly. Over 100 events are held throughout the city during the four-week Summer Festival during Lucerne’s Festival. In addition to presenting world-famous orchestras, conductors, and soloists, the Lucerne Festival also includes contemporary music and supports young musicians.

Vevey Street Artists Festival
Vevey, 19-21 August 2022
About thirty groups of artists present three days of free performances during the Street Artists Festival. For the enjoyment of all ages, Vevey’s old town transforms into a vast big top that features jugglers, acrobats, contortionists, fire-eaters, mimes, and artists worldwide. At the end of the competition, a jury of showpeople and local personalities awards a Gold Cobblestone to the winning artist. Also, by granting a “Special Public Prize”, the public can cast a vote. Place Scanavin and its surrounding streets host the more prominent shows on Sundays. In a convivial and wholesome atmosphere, the Festival of Vevey marks the end of the school holidays.

Zürich Openair
Zurich, 23-27 August 2022
Zürich Openair is Zurich’s largest and most popular open-air festival.
Over five days, it features a variety of food and entertainment stands as well as electronic and rock music.
The event is easily accessible from Zurich Airport, making it ideal for international guests. In addition, the festival’s proximity to the city means that a visit to Downtown Zurich is accessible as an addition to the festival experience.
