In November, you can still enjoy activities, festivals and various happenings around Switzerland, even though it is considered a low season and a preparation time for a big winter show. Switzerland is still not getting chilly despite a late fall this year. There is usually nothing exactly autumnal or winterlike about November. Mid-November marks St. Martin’s Day in Jura Cantonhttps://www.j3l.ch/en/Z12947/la-saint-martin ) (, a traditional festival in Ajoie and Porrentruy. It consists of the traditional Feast of St. Martin (November 11-14, 2021) and the following weekend, known as the “Revira” (November 20-21, 2021).
In Porrentruy, the St. Martin’s Market features local crafts and artisan products throughout the weekend, while savoury menus featuring pigs are available in local restaurants. St. Martin’s Day celebrates the peasant origins and friendliness of the region while highlighting its authentic flavours.
Onion Market in Bern

Visit Bern before sunrise on November 28 for one of Switzerland’s most colourful and unusual festivals, the Onion Market – Zibelemärit. Food and souvenir stalls line the streets of this traditional farmers’ market, complete with confetti and onion pie aromas.
Every fourth Monday of November, a folk one-day event gathering more than 50 metric tons of onions and garlic from all over the canton begins as early as 4:00 am. Onions are found in all shapes and sizes; they are painted and plaited, and woven into onion garlands, onion necklaces, and onion wreaths in an artsy way.
Wine Fair Foire aux Vins

Speaking of wine, it is another popular get-together theme during November. From Thursday, November 17, to Saturday, November 19, head to Vevey’s wine fair Foire aux Vins. Gallery du Rivage offers more samples of local wines than 25 producers at its tasting room.
There is something unique and trendy about Vevey’s Fête des Vignerons; the winegrowers festival dates back to the 18th century. In the area surrounding Vevey are the Lavaux Vineyards, a terraced vineyard region encompassing 830 hectares. In 2007, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List for the first time.
