Maya Advises: 14 Tips for How to Manage Stress
From work and even home environment to current world affairs, those situations are not always easy to handle in today’s life. But, even if there is a slight chance we can help you decrease those stressful situations, we are working on it. So we asked Maya to share some valuable tips on how to recuse stress with us. So here is Maya Advises: 14 tips for How to Manage stress.
Stress is something you can never eliminate from your life. This article aims to reduce stress, not “get free from stress.”
Stress can be managed and reduced. You can develop self-love by becoming aware of yourself and caring for yourself. After you reduce the stress level in your life, you will feel peaceful for most of the day.
You can find short-term stress relief activities whether you face a significant challenge, like death, divorce, sickness in the family, or unemployment. If you feel overwhelmed from everyday life from many projects, fights with spouse/partner, or challenging children’s behaviour, once again reach out to small stress relief activities like:
Create a goal and a plan
Lack of clarity about where we are going and what results in what we want in our lives is one of the most stressful things for us. The things we want in life are not goals unless we spend time with ourselves and identify what they are. Set some smaller and more important goals. The next step is to develop a step-by-step plan for achieving those goals.
Follow the plan step by step
One of the worst feelings after procrastinating is regret. Once you create a plan for your goals, begin implementing it step-by-step. It doesn’t matter if you’re tired or not feeling like it. Procrastinating and postponing important issues will lead to remarkably high stress. It’s better to have things in order than to do them all at once when deadlines are approaching.
Be prepared in advance
Prepare things for the next day in the evening. For example, what can you prepare for the entire week on Sunday? What will you wear from Monday to Friday during the weekend? Could you plan your meals for a few days in advance? You can prepare ahead of time for everything you need to do during the day.
Decide to disconnect for half of the day
You can still work and even use social media for fun. Alternatively, you can decide to disconnect from your phone and computer every day for half a day. Focus on yourself, your family, and nature instead.
Make time for your children and partner
It is better to set aside one hour in a day where you will be present for your loved ones than to spend six hours making “a few” phone calls, preparing meals, checking emails, and playing with children while talking to your partner. That way, you are not entirely efficient for your work or family.
Visualize
Visualization is an excellent tool for stress-reducing. Picture all the good things that are happening in your life right now. Then, as you go through the process, try to feel all those emotions that you know will come once you are in those good scenarios.
Meditate
Meditation is another excellent way to relieve stress. In today’s world, we are always on the go. Today, we live fast-paced lives. Meditation teaches us to slow down and refocus on the essential things in our lives.
Hug
People need a human touch. Hugging can reduce stress levels and releases the oxytocin hormone. The feeling of safety and security is enriched by oxytocin. A hug is a happy experience. Do you feel stressed? Hug your kids, your partner, your friends, your dog,
Use Aromatherapy
Essential oils are becoming increasingly popular. You can find a wide variety of oils on the market if you want to try this method for relieving stress. In addition, using essential oils to inhale their scent can be relaxing for some people.
Have fun
Regarding stress reduction, there is nothing better than having fun. Whether you want to watch a movie, have a long conversation with a friend, go dancing, to dinner in a restaurant, go to a friend’s house or spend a day in nature, it’s up to you. This advice is still applicable if life is too serious right now. Enjoy and have fun!
Manage your time
Take the time and effort to learn about time management and organizational tools. You won’t regret it. Every day we have 24 hours, but we don’t always use those 24 hours to our advantage. Time management is a lesson we can learn. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could organize your things and have time for everything?
Be Grateful
Gratitude relieves stress as well. In the rush to do the next thing and then the next, without stopping for a second to appreciate all the blessings you already have, you may feel that you never have enough.
When facing challenges, gratitude helps you stay positive.
Educate yourself and learn
Learn about different aspects of life, such as negotiating, personal development, managing difficult people, finances, etc. Some life aspects can be challenging for us, and we need knowledge about handling them.
List of the most stressful things in your life
Write down what is stressing you out the most and see if you can cut it out. Then, of course, you will probably have to continue working on some things from that list. But, when you see all of them on paper, I believe you will be able to alleviate some of your stress tasks.
